Lakeside station contains the only ticket office on the SNBR. The ticket office contains a few
working items from the old BR days. Including 2 working dates stamps an official ticket rack
(even with the old fares still displayed) and of course ticket clippers. From the ticket office
the station opens out to a 3 platform terminus with an engine release road and a working 16' long
turn table used to turn every engines after its arrival. The platforms are quite short and
can only hold short train upto a maximum of 5 carriages on platform 1, 7 on platform 2 and
10 on platform 3. this is mainly due to the road crossing at the end of the station crossing at an
angle to the track.
